Economic Indicators provide Insight into the economic health of a community. The purpose of this dashboard is to provide an “at a glance” look at the economic indicators and targets of the Chautauqua County Planning and Economic Development Department. The economic indicators mirror those tracked and updated by the Western New York Regional Economic Development Council. The Economic Indicators Dashboard will be updated quarterly as information becomes available.

Unemployment in CHQ:

Decrease unemployment by 1.2% to a level of 5.5% by 2018.



Average Employed in CHQ:

Increase the annual average of employed individuals in Chautauqua County from 56,800 in 2013 to 57,000 in 2018.

Overall Tax Base in CHQ:

New development will help increase the tax base by 4.4% between the years of 2014 and 2018. The increased tax base is valued at $306 million and would increase the base from $6.827 billion dollars to $7.133 billion dollars.

Overall Sales Tax in CHQ:

Increase sales tax collected by 4.5% between 2015 and 2018. The Increased revenue for the County and its municipalities is estimated to be $2.47 million.
